Comrades
Literally
While out with the thin-vegetative-mass-in-numbers eradication tool (leaf rake) in hand, I was destined to be doing this task alone. It is a solitary act not requiring conference with others to complete. With the fresh smell of partly rotting dead biomass in the air I struggled to pick up the scent of my coffee on the nearby table. Are we as man (and woman) destined to complete this unending frustration on an annual basis?
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
“A rake having a plurality of tines, each tine connected to a brace by a plurality of crimps, with each crimp being about two millimetres or less in diameter. The tines are supported by a floating tine bar that has a plurality of openings, one for each tine. The tine bar is located about half-way between the brace and the working ends of the tines. A handle sleeve is connected to the brace by a plurality of rivets. Each rivet is about three millimetres or less in diameter. A handle inserted into the handle sleeve permits a user to comfortably use the rake in a typical manner.”
Where is the technological solution? Leaf blowers are a bane to the peaceful enjoyment of urban life. Mulching mowers have the limitation on the environment of stuffing the lawn so full of chopped and diced leaf parts that the life breath of oxygen becomes choked off. Where are the GMO people with developing the non-deciduous deciduous Maple tree? Permanent leaves which change from green to red in the fall, to white in the winter, and back to green in the spring?
We endeavour to minimize the labour of everything and all natures. Let’s get this thing together. With the longer life of leaves on the tree, more of those nasty greenhouse gasses will be abated. More shade, less skin cancer, and less radiant heating of the earth’s surface. Less heating of the earth’s surface, fewer rising air masses, calmer weather, fewer airsickness bags used. Fewer of them used, and better coffee produced for the masses.
In all the coffee consumption would rise and the price would fall. Coffee would unite the world. Again.
Would it be possible that the butterfly effect of chaos would cause this chain of reactions? Who is to know? Who isn’t to know? Can this type of clarity arise from the chaos of the leaf agglomeration I have produced and parked across the road from my abode? You cannot dispute the butterfly effect simply because you cannot prove it. The statement that it is the case is enough to validate it.

Art is art simply because it is labelled as such. Years ago I had the delirium of producing Yard Art. My darling wife disclaimed it out of hand cuz’in I was not an artist. I retooled her thoughts by explaining the fact I had produced “Art”, meant that I was in fact one.
The staunch believers of the untamed world will no longer unite as a disassembly. You cannot get together from away. You can relate and rely but not reboot. The old boots are just fine. Why do I go to replace the gum rubbers of the ages? Can we try to not let in that which we need as a fact of life? We need to drink. Water is fine. Let us save some by less raking.
Mark Hull
[this is good] Of course you are an ARTIST! You are absolutely correct in that by producing art you are in fact creating art, which means you are an artist. Bravo! Do you have any pics of your past yard art. They need to be posted!

My favourite vision of a leaf blower in action was a city worker in Toronto pushing a pile of leaves down the street...INTO a (substantial) wind.

Yeah Kevin!
And I bet he though of the blower as his penile extension and felt he was peeing into the wind! Or better yet, f*&^*&^'ing Mother Nature.

hmm...half my original post isn't shown here. I had gone on to say that the leaves blew up over his head and formed a new pile behind him!

Kevin
Was this actually a "new" pile or just the old ones rearranged?
